DiBerardino Residence
Pittman LA was hired to prepare a comprehensive landscape plan for a new oceanside residence in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The plan included detailed construction plans for site grading, paving, and planting. The grading plans addressed several significant problems created with locating a 9,400 square-foot house onto a 1.3-acre site with 30-foot sand dunes. A State-approved dune restoration was required as part of the solution along with retaining walls and revegetation with appropriate plants. The paving plans provided for a new driveway, pool deck with fire pit and seating, and connecting walkways. Pittman LA created a lush planting plan to provide a pleasing appearance, softening the large, white West Indies-style house while remaining sensitive to the ecology of the site and the owners wishes for a lower-maintenance landscape. Site lighting and new entry gates were also considered in the design. (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida (2009)

Guidry Residence
Jen Guidry employed Pittman LA to develop a comprehensive landscape plan for their 1/3rd-acre lot located within the Jacksonville Golf and County Club community. The plan was designed to improve a 3,200 square-foot, 90s-era house in a distinctive and ecologically appropriate manner. The front of the house was revised to include a new driveway and sidewalks with porous pavers and a mostly-native plant palette was used to blended with and enhance the existing vegetation. A new seating area and designer fountain were created at the entry alcove. The side yard was reconfigured for a small, raised vegetable garden that transitioned to a raised boardwalk through ferns planted in a naturally wet area of the lot. Pittman LA introduced a small courtyard in the rear of the property with a sugar kettle fountain and butterfly-attracting plants. The existing pool area was expanded slightly with natural flagstones and a new pergola. Cabbage palms and butterfly ginger were located along the fence to provide immediate shade and screening. Martin Residence
The Rev. Christoper Martin, a retired Episcopal priest, retained Pittman LA to create a landscape plan for his Atlantic Beach residence, a modern house designed by renowned Jacksonville architect, Robert C. Broward. Fr. Martin desired a Japanese-style garden for the small, enclosed rear yard in which to enjoy peaceful reflection. In response, Pittman LA designed a small raised deck accessed by a traditional wood walk cantilevered over a small reflecting pool. Earth was bermed around the pond to help enclose the space and give the impression of a mountain pond. The berms were planted with azaleas and Japanese pines enhance the effect and provide screening to the neighboring houses. Pittman LA’s approach to the front yard was to complement the unique, modern architecture of the house. Beds and plants were arranged geometrically with shrubs and groundcovers used to accentuate the dynamic lines of the house. Atlantic Beach, Florida (2009)

American Homebuilders
Buck Pittman was employed by American Homebuilders to provide landscape plans for their new houses and especially for those located in World Golf Village that required permitting approval through their architectural review board. Mr. Pittman developed dozens of plans for AHB over several years, with some more elaborate plans designed for their model homes, and continues to serve as their landscape consultant. Jacksonville, Florida (2005-2009)

Greene Residence
Matt Greene, president and CEO of Haven Trust Bank, enlisted Pittman LA to upgrade his residential landscape. Pittman designed a new landscape for the residence that took full advantage of the lot and its massive existing trees. The entry walk was modified with brick borders and banding and extended to the curb to be more inviting and functional. Traditional landscape plants were used to enhance existing vegetation with broad, sweeping bedlines. The rear yard was modified for better entertaining through modifications to the old patio and to better accommodate children’s recreation. Jacksonville, Florida (2005)
